Cubico has, until now, engaged with different solar monitoring service providers to manage assets across the company’s global portfolio, with sometimes having multiple partnerships in the same territory. This approach was not optimal for consistency and full visibility across portfolios, which led Cubico to make the strategic decision to unify operations under one flexible, scalable solution.
This announcement follows a three-year partnership between BaxEnergy and Cubico’s regional operation in Italy, managing 255 MW of wind and solar assets in the country.
The implementation of BaxEnergy’s asset management solutions helped transform how data is managed, cutting operational time by up to 50 percent and enabling faster, more informed decisions. Firstly, Cubico was able to centralise all the data inflows from their power plants in one place, drastically reducing data losses, enhancing efficiency and improved decision-making process. The time needed to complete various operational tasks was reduced by up to 50 percent, including the automation of processes such as data integration and calculations.
Through the partnership, BaxEnergy will provide its advanced monitoring, reporting and automation solution to help Cubico optimise the performance of its global portfolio, consisting of 3 GW of onshore wind and solar capacity installed across nine markets.
BaxEnergy’s Asset Performance Management (APM) solution, Energy Studio Pro (ESPx), enables Cubico to track KPIs, customise reports, and optimise performance across its portfolio. BaxEnergy’s responsiveness and collaboration will help Cubico fill the gaps identified by their team members during the selection process, in order to make a tool that is fit for purpose for all their employees’ workflows.
Cubico’s global solar portfolio is poised for rapid expansion with over 3 GW of solar PV projects currently under development and will benefit from the seamless scalability ESPx offers. In this context, the visibility and granular detail on asset performance that ESPx provides will be key for smooth integration and growth. BaxEnergy’s platform brings the digital foundation necessary to maximise performance, operational efficiency, and long-term value.
“Moving towards a single provider of asset performance management is an important step for Cubico” said Fernando Rodriguez Alvarado, Senior Solar Performance Analyst at Cubico Sustainable Investments. “Data is critical to our operations, and having a standardised approach to collecting, analysing and reporting it will simplify our workflows and make us more efficient across all of our markets. It will also help us to seamlessly drive forward our ambitious growth plans over the coming years.”
