Invenergy Wind LLC has secured 800 MW of wind turbines for 2009 through GE Wind. The machines will be used in North America and Europe.
The German utility, which recently reported sale increases, will thus become one of the world's largest green energy operators.
Applied Materials will buy the Italian firm, who produces solar PV materials, for 225 million euros, in an effort to strengthen its presence in the crystalline solar PV market.
