Gamesa sells Wind To Market to the CIMD group

Gamesa has sold its Spanish electricity market representation activities, which the company used to carry out through a society called Wind to Market, to Grupo Corretaje e Información Monetaria y de Divisas S.A. (CIMD), owner of Intermoney Energía. The sale price has been fixed at 961,000 euros, equivalent to its base capital, plus an additional price to be paid during the next three years, of up to 2 million euros, as Gamesa has informed in a press release.

" The transaction ensures the existence of an independence agent working for customers and investors, willing to work for third parties and with a good track in brokering in different actual and financial markets" the company added. "Besides, the wind energy is consolidated within Spain's energy mix, allowing the articulation of the expected growth for the coming years".

Intermoney Energía S.A. is a society belonging to the CIMD group. The firm is specialized in energy derivative markets both in Spain and abroad. It offers advisory and analysis services in the energy market and it also acts as an agent of electricity production facilities. With this transaction, the company will increase its portfolio of wind facilities, thus strengthening its leadership. 

Wind to Market has been successfully operating in the wind markets for more than two years and has a commercial portfolio of more than 1,100 MW of wind power that now will be added to Intermoney Energía's portfolio.

Gamesa will continue to promote the wind power management services and trading and competing in regulated wind power markets in all the countries it is present, namely European ones and the US.
